Responsible Play

At Kananaskis Casino, we believe gambling should be a form of entertainment, never a way to make money or escape problems. Most people play for fun, but for some, gambling can cause harm to their finances, relationships and wellbeing. This page explains our commitment to safer play, the tools you can use to stay in control, and where to find free, confidential help.

1. Our Commitment

We are committed to providing a safe and responsible gambling environment. That means:

  • Giving you clear, easy-to-use tools to manage your time and spending.
  • Only allowing people aged 19 and over to play.
  • Running identity and geolocation checks before any deposit.
  • Training our team to recognize signs of harm and to respond with care.
  • Not sending marketing to players who are self-excluded or taking a break.
  • Reaching out when we see patterns of play that concern us, and acting where needed.

2. Tips for Playing Safely

  • Set a budget before you play and treat it as the cost of entertainment.
  • Only gamble with money you can afford to lose.
  • Never chase losses.
  • Set time limits and take regular breaks.
  • Avoid gambling when you are upset, stressed or have been drinking.
  • Keep a balance between gambling and other activities.

3. Tools You Control

Deposit, Wager and Stake Limits

You can set limits on how much you deposit, how much you wager, and how much you stake per bet, over a daily, weekly or monthly period. Once you reach a limit, you will not be able to go beyond it until the period resets.

Reality Checks and Time Alerts

Reality checks are on-screen reminders that appear at intervals you choose. They show how long you have been playing and help you decide whether to continue, take a break or log out. Time alerts help you keep track of your sessions.

Take a Break / Cooling-Off

If you need some time away, you can take a break for any period from 24 hours to 6 weeks. During a break you cannot log in to play or deposit, and we will not send you marketing. Your account reopens automatically when the break ends.

Self-Exclusion and Account Closure

If you feel you need a longer break from gambling, you can self-exclude. Self-exclusion blocks access to your account for the period you choose, and it cannot be reversed early. We will return any remaining balance, subject to required checks, and stop all marketing. You can also ask us to close your account permanently. If you are closing your account because of gambling concerns, please tell us so that we can apply the right protections and prevent new accounts from being opened.

Self-Assessment Quiz

Our self-assessment quiz helps you reflect on your gambling habits. It only takes a few minutes and can help you spot early warning signs.

KYC and Geolocation Checks Before Any Deposit

We verify your identity, age and location before accepting any deposit. This protects minors, prevents fraud, and makes sure you are playing only where it is permitted.

4. How Limits Take Effect

To protect you from decisions made in the moment:

  • Decreases apply instantly. If you lower a limit, the change takes effect straight away.
  • Increases take 24 hours. If you raise or remove a limit, the change only applies after 24 hours have passed, giving you time to reconsider.

5. Self-Assessment: Warning Signs

Ask yourself honestly:

  • Do you spend more money or time gambling than you intended?
  • Do you gamble to win back money you have lost?
  • Have you borrowed money or sold things to gamble?
  • Do you feel anxious, irritable or low when you are not gambling?
  • Have you hidden your gambling from family or friends?
  • Has gambling affected your work, studies, health or relationships?
  • Do you gamble to escape problems or difficult feelings?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, consider using our tools and speaking to one of the support organizations below. Our self-assessment quiz is available in your account for a more structured check.

6. Protecting Minors

Gambling with us is strictly for people aged 19 and over. We verify age before any deposit and close any account found to belong to a minor. If you share a device with children or teenagers, keep your login details private, log out after each session, and consider using parental-control software. See our Underage Gambling Policy for more information.
